Composite Doors in Milborne Port
Milborne Port sits on the A30 just east of Sherborne, with attractive stone houses and cottages around its centre and newer homes on its edges. A solid composite door keeps out draughts and road noise far better than an old door, and it is much harder to force. We have fitted doors nearby in Henstridge and Sherborne.
Goldhill Glazing is a family-run window and door company based in Shaftesbury. We take on fewer projects than the big names so every installation gets the time it needs. Kenny surveys every home himself, and your door is fitted by our own team from start to finish.
The older stone houses and cottages near the centre of Milborne Port have a settled, traditional look, and we choose doors that keep it. A cottage or Georgian style in a heritage colour, with a woodgrain finish, sits well against local stone, and a small glazed light lets in daylight without looking out of place. Listed homes may need consent from Somerset Council, which Kenny will check. The newer homes at the edges of the village, and many in Henstridge and Charlton Horethorne, suit something more contemporary, and our solid core doors with an AV4 slam lock make a reassuring back door for any of them.
Composite Doors for Milborne Port Homes
The older part of Milborne Port is a conservation area, so on period homes we choose a door that suits the house. Panelled designs in heritage colours suit stone cottages, and our timber-look R9 entrance door recreates a 19th-century door. If consent is needed from Somerset Council, Kenny will advise and give you the product details you need.
Recent work nearby includes a Chartwell Green composite door in Henstridge and a composite door in Sherborne.

Composite Doors in Milborne Port: Your Questions Answered
Which areas around Milborne Port do you cover?
All of Milborne Port, along with Henstridge, Charlton Horethorne, Goathill, Purse Caundle and the surrounding villages, as well as Sherborne and Stalbridge.
Will a composite door cut road noise?
It helps. A composite door is much thicker and more solid than an old uPVC or timber door, and the seals all round stop the gaps that let noise in. Adding glass with a thicker unit helps further on a busy road.
How secure are your composite doors?
Very. Every door has multi-point locking, and our solid core doors have an AV4 slam lock that locks automatically when the door closes. Glazed panels use toughened safety glass, and the door and frame are fitted by our own team so everything locks down firmly.
What guarantee do your doors come with?
Your door is guaranteed for 10 years, hardware for 2 years and our workmanship for 10 years, all backed by an insurance-backed guarantee through HomePro.
How much does a composite door cost?
It depends on the style, size, colour, glass and hardware you choose. Every door is made to measure, so the only way to give an accurate price is to survey your home. The survey and quote are free, and we are rarely beaten on price for a genuine like-for-like quotation.
