Double Glazing in Poole
From the Edwardian houses of Lower Parkstone to the family homes of Broadstone, Canford Heath and Oakdale and the larger properties around Canford Cliffs, Poole has homes of every age and style. What many of them have in common is a set of windows that has been in for a long time and is no longer doing its job properly.
Goldhill Glazing is a family-run window and door company based in Shaftesbury. We take on fewer projects than the big names so every installation gets the time it needs. Kenny surveys every home himself, and your windows are fitted by our own team from start to finish.
Living by the harbour has its rewards, but salt air and strong winds are hard on windows. In Poole, older double glazing often shows corroded hinges, perished seals and misted glass, particularly in exposed spots at Sandbanks, Lilliput and Hamworthy. Our own team fits each frame with careful attention to sealing and drainage, which matters so much on the coast. The Georgian merchants’ houses in the Old Town need a more sensitive approach, as some are listed or in a conservation area, and Kenny will advise whether BCP Council consent may be needed. In Parkstone, the Victorian and Edwardian villas often suit a sliding sash.
Harbourside and Old Town Homes
Homes close to the harbour face more wind and salt than those further inland, so frames need to be well made and properly sealed. In the Old Town around the Quay, the look of a window matters as much as how it performs.
Kenny can advise on styles that suit older buildings and give you the product details you need if you are speaking to BCP Council about your plans.
Our casement windows suit most Poole homes, with flush casement and aluminium options for period and contemporary properties. Recent work nearby includes flush casement windows in Wimborne, energy-efficient window replacements in Dorset and a front door replacement in Poole.

Double Glazing in Poole: Your Questions Answered
Which parts of Poole do you cover?
All of Poole, including Parkstone, Broadstone, Canford Heath, Oakdale, Hamworthy, Upton, Lilliput and Canford Cliffs, as well as Bournemouth, Wimborne and the surrounding area.
Can you replace windows in Poole Old Town?
Often, yes. Parts of the Old Town are a conservation area and some buildings are listed, so consent may be needed from BCP Council depending on the property. Kenny will talk you through suitable options during the survey.
My double glazing has misted up. Do I need new windows?
Not always. Mist or condensation between the panes means the seal on the glass unit has failed. If the frames are still in good condition, new glass units can sometimes be enough. If the frames are old or draughty, or the locks are worn, new windows are usually better value. Kenny will look at them and tell you honestly which makes more sense.
What guarantee do your windows come with?
Frames and sealed glass units are guaranteed for 10 years, hardware for 2 years and our workmanship for 10 years, all backed by an insurance-backed guarantee through HomePro.
Can you match the look of my existing windows?
Usually, yes. We offer a wide choice of colours and woodgrain finishes, along with flush casement, sliding sash and Georgian bar options, so new windows suit the character of the house rather than fight it.
