Double Glazing in Wilton
Wilton sits just along the A30 from us, and its homes range from listed cottages around the Market Place to family houses on the edges of town and in the villages of the Nadder and Wylye valleys. Many still have double glazing that is decades old, with misted units and worn seals letting the heat out.
Goldhill Glazing is a family-run window and door company based in Shaftesbury. We take on fewer projects than the big names so every installation gets the time it needs. Kenny surveys every home himself, and your windows are fitted by our own team from start to finish.
Wilton’s listed townhouses around the Market Place and West Street need a careful approach to any window replacement, and listed building consent from Wiltshire Council may be required. Kenny will take you through that in person. In the Nadder and Wylye valleys, villages such as Barford St Martin, Great Wishford and South Newton have a mix of older cottages and later houses, many with double glazing that has misted or no longer closes properly. We replace it with windows suited to each building, made to measure and fitted by our own team, and we leave every room as tidy as we found it.
Living on the A30 or a Busy Road?
The A30 runs right through Wilton, and for homes close to it traffic noise can be a constant background. New double glazing with well-sealed frames makes a real difference to how quiet a house feels, especially in rooms that face the road.
For older homes, our sliding sash and flush casement windows keep the character of the house. Recent work nearby includes flush casement windows in Salisbury and bespoke timber windows.

Double Glazing in Wilton: Your Questions Answered
Do you cover Wilton and the surrounding villages?
Yes. We are just along the A30 in Shaftesbury and work across Wilton, Barford St Martin, Burcombe, Dinton, Great Wishford and South Newton, as well as Salisbury and Tisbury.
Can I have double glazing on a listed or conservation area home?
Often, yes. Much of Wilton’s centre is a conservation area and listed buildings need consent from Wiltshire Council. Kenny will advise on windows that are likely to be acceptable.
Will new double glazing make my home quieter?
Yes, in most cases noticeably so. Well-sealed frames matter as much as the glass itself. If noise is a particular problem, Kenny can recommend glass options designed to reduce it.
My double glazing has misted up. Do I need new windows?
Not always. Mist or condensation between the panes means the seal on the glass unit has failed. If the frames are still in good condition, new glass units can sometimes be enough. If the frames are old or draughty, or the locks are worn, new windows are usually better value. Kenny will look at them and tell you honestly which makes more sense.
What guarantee do your windows come with?
Frames and sealed glass units are guaranteed for 10 years, hardware for 2 years and our workmanship for 10 years, all backed by an insurance-backed guarantee through HomePro.
