Cream Aluminium Flush Casement Windows Installed in Warminster
We recently completed this substantial aluminium window installation in Warminster, replacing the existing windows throughout the property with 12 new flush casement aluminium windows.
The customer chose a traditional cream finish with astragal bars and black monkey tail handles, creating the appearance of classic timber windows while benefiting from the slim profiles, durability and low maintenance associated with modern aluminium.
An important part of this installation was achieving the correct external appearance. Rather than reducing the size of the new frames to work around the existing internal finishes, all of the internal reveals were removed. This allowed the new aluminium windows to be manufactured at their full size externally and helped us achieve the proportions and finished appearance we wanted for the property.
Choosing Flush Casement Aluminium Windows
For this Warminster property, the appearance of the replacement windows was particularly important.
Flush casement windows are designed so that the opening sash sits flush with the outer frame when closed. This creates a cleaner, more traditional appearance than a conventional stormproof casement window, making them particularly well suited to properties where character and detailing are important.

The black hardware provides a strong contrast against the cream aluminium frames and ties in perfectly with the traditional styling of the astragal bars.
Although relatively small details, choosing the right handles and hardware can make a significant difference to the finished appearance of a window installation.
Removing the Internal Reveals
One of the more involved aspects of this Warminster window installation was dealing with the existing internal reveals.
For this project, all of the internal reveals were removed. This allowed us to manufacture and install the replacement windows full size to the external openings, rather than reducing the dimensions of the new frames to accommodate the existing internal finishes.
This was an important consideration because reducing the frame sizes would have changed the external proportions of the windows.
By removing the reveals, we were able to prioritise the correct external sizing and achieve a much better overall appearance.
It meant additional work internally, but on a project like this, getting the fundamental proportions of the windows right was more important than simply choosing the easiest installation method.

Aluminium is often associated with contemporary windows, large panes of glass and modern properties, but this installation demonstrates how versatile the material can be.
By combining flush casement frames, a cream finish, astragal bars and traditional monkey tail handles, aluminium can also create a very traditional-looking window.
The relatively slim profiles available with aluminium also help maximise the glazed area while maintaining clean sightlines.

Installing 12 New Windows Throughout the Property
With 12 replacement aluminium windows involved, consistency was particularly important throughout this project.

Careful surveying before manufacture was also particularly important because of the decision to remove the internal reveals and manufacture the windows to their full external sizes.

The Finished Result
We’re extremely pleased with how these cream aluminium windows in Warminster turned out.
The cream finish gives the frames a softer, more traditional appearance, while the astragal bars add character to the glazing. The black monkey tail handles provide the finishing touch and create an attractive contrast against the lighter frames.
Most importantly, taking the additional step of removing the internal reveals allowed the replacement windows to be made at the correct full external sizes.
It’s a great example of why the survey and installation method can be just as important as the window itself when trying to achieve the best possible finished result.
