Anthracite Grey Composite Door with Side Panel in Tisbury
Anthracite Grey Composite Door, Tisbury
This anthracite grey solid core composite door and matching side panel replaced an old rosewood uPVC front door at a stone house in Tisbury. It was surveyed by Kenny and fitted by Kyle and Cam from our own installation team.
Replacing an Old Rosewood uPVC Door
Rosewood uPVC doors were a popular choice in the 1990s and 2000s, and many of them are now showing their age, with faded frames, worn locks and seals that no longer close up tightly. Replacing the door and side panel together meant the whole entrance could be brought up to date in one go, with a new frame, new glass and modern locking.
Solid Core, Built to Last
Our solid core composite doors have a heat-reflective SleekSkin finish, which helps a dark colour like anthracite stay straight and true in the sun, and an AV4 slam lock as standard, so the door locks itself as soon as it closes. The glazed panels use toughened safety glass, and every door comes with a 10-year guarantee.
Anthracite Outside, White Inside
The door and side panel are anthracite grey outside and white inside, so the hallway stays light and fresh. The two glazed panels at the top of the door have our Classic leaded design, and the side panel has Stippolyte obscure glass, which lets plenty of daylight into the hall while keeping it private. Chrome handles and a chrome letterplate finish it off, and the grey looks lovely against the local stone.
Fitted by Our Own Team
Kyle and Cam removed the old door and side panel, fitted the new frame into the stone opening and finished everything neatly inside and out, before taking the old door away and leaving the porch clean and tidy. Before we left, every lock and hinge was checked and adjusted so the door closes smoothly and locks properly.
Front Doors in Tisbury and the Nadder Valley
Tisbury sits in the Nadder valley within the Cranborne Chase National Landscape, and many of its homes are built of local stone, from cottages in the village centre to newer houses on its edges. Anthracite grey, Chartwell Green and other heritage colours all sit well against that stone. On a period cottage, our timber-look R9 entrance door recreates a traditional timber door without the upkeep, and our premium Palladio door is available for those who want the very best.
We fit composite doors across Tisbury and the villages around it, including Hindon, Fonthill, Chilmark, Dinton and Teffont. See our composite doors in Tisbury page, or our composite door pages for nearby Salisbury, Wilton, Shaftesbury, Mere, Gillingham and Warminster.

Composite Doors: Your Questions Answered
How long does it take to fit a composite door and side panel?
Most front doors, including a door with a side panel like this one, are fitted in a day. We remove the old door and frame, fit the new one, finish it neatly inside and out and take the old door away.
Will an anthracite grey door warp in the sun?
Dark doors absorb more heat, which is why our solid core composite doors have a heat-reflective SleekSkin finish. It helps the door stay straight and true in strong sunshine, so a dark colour like anthracite grey is a safe choice.
Can I have a different colour inside?
Yes. Many of our customers choose a colour outside and white inside, as on this door in Tisbury, so the hallway stays light. We can also match the inside to your other doors or woodwork.
How secure are your composite doors?
Very. Every door has multi-point locking, and our solid core doors have an AV4 slam lock as standard, which locks the door as soon as it closes. Glazed panels use toughened safety glass.
Do I need permission to replace my front door in Tisbury?
Usually not, as replacing a front door on a house that is not listed is normally permitted development. If your home is listed, or the conservation area has an Article 4 direction that covers doors, Wiltshire Council may need to approve the design. Kenny will check this when he visits.
What guarantee do you give?
Your door is guaranteed for 10 years, hardware for 2 years and our workmanship for 10 years, all backed by an insurance-backed guarantee through HomePro.
